The Secret Life of Pets is an upcoming 2016 American 3D computer animatedcomedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment. The film is directed byChris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney and written by Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.[4] The film stars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet, Kevin Hart, Steve Coogan, Ellie Kemper, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell, Hannibal Buress and Albert Brooks. The film is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2016, by Universal Pictures.
Plot
Taking place in a Manhattan apartment building, Max's life as a favorite pet is turned upside down when his owner Katie brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke, who was rescued from the pound.[5] Little do they know, they have to put their quarrels behind when an adorable white rabbit named Snowball, the leader of an army of abandoned pets – called the "Flushed Pets" – [5] is determined to take revenge on all happily-owned pets and their owners.

Production
On January 24, 2014, the film was announced, with Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreetand Kevin Hart, set to voice the main characters.[6] On June 16, 2014, Albert Brooks, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell and Ellie Kemper joined the cast.[8] On April 16, 2015, the film was pushed back from its original release date of February 12, 2016, to July 8, 2016.[4]
